Jamie and Sandy Jenny have expertly operated this downtown French eatery since 1985. Before that, it was Harwigs Saddlery and Western Wear for the better part of a century; and previous owners insisted the Jennys keep the name, at least in part. That they have, but they've changed most everything else in the past decades, remodeling, installing an upstairs gallery and downstairs wine cellar, and planting a herb and vegetable garden out back from which they source much of what ends up on the plate in summer. Jamie is the chef, turning out Gallic classics like rabbit and chestnut sausage and crispy duck breast as well as more Colorado-centric dishes like local lamb chops and five-spice venison. The bar serves a lighter menu, and service is first-rate.
