About our rating systemThis small museum contains volcano themed artwork, objects, artifacts, and lava rocks from the collection of volcanologist Haraldur Sigurdsson, who has carried out research on the world’s volcanoes worldwide for more than 40 years. Sigurdsson, or his assistant, is usually on hand to guide you through the exhibit. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the museum offers geological tours around the Snæfellsnes peninsula (8 hours; 17,000kr).
