The state's main library consists of two side-by-side sections, the Mitchell and Dixon libraries. A newer reference-library complex nearby has two floors of reference materials, local newspapers, and microfiche viewers. Leave your bags in the free lockers downstairs. (You'll need a A$2 coin, which is refundable.) I highly recommend the library's leafy Glasshouse Café, one of the best walk-in lunch spots in Sydney. The older building often mounts free art and photography displays in the upstairs galleries.
