This nice indoor and alfresco eatery overlooking the water on the same side as Darling Harbour (to the left of Sydney Aquarium if you’re looking at the boats) offers good cocktails and plenty of seafood. The best seats are outside in the sunshine, where you can watch the world go by over a bottle of wine. A seafood platter for two (A$160) arrives piled with crab, prawns, mussels, fish, oysters, and lobster. A kids’ menu for under 12s (A$15) offers either pasta, chicken, calamari, or fish with French fries and a soft drink, followed by ice cream. Nick’s has another equally pleasant eatery on the other side of the Aquarium called Nick’s Bar & Grill, and a sister establishment, I’m Angus Steakhouse—also at Cockle Bay Wharf—does good steaks, a great Guinness pie, and some seafood. The food and prices at all three places are similar, and they share the same phone number for bookings.
