The 2012 winner of the Australian Gourmet Traveller’s Australian Restaurant of the Year—among its many other awards—Marque is seriously sophisticated, offering a set menu featuring classic French dishes. Politicians, actors, and food critics all rave about the place. Chef Mark Best has not been called a “culinary wizard” for nothing. Expect some real highlights here, at prices to match. A good way to discover what the fuss is about is the Friday set-price lunch menu, a very reasonable A$45 for three courses. Reservations are essential here.
