On a corner beside a run of surf shops, Ravesi’s is a kind of fish tank—with the water on the outside. Downstairs, it’s all glass windows and bar stools, the perfect place to watch the street life go by. On weekend nights, the place is packed. Upstairs is a fine casual restaurant with seating both inside and out on the balcony overlooking the beach, not to mention a nice wine bar. Menu choices include dishes like grilled barramundi with mustard basil mash, creamed spinach, and roast beets jus; or braised lamb shanks (two!) with rosemary, raisins, pine nuts, port wine, and garlic beans.
