Han She Hotel

Don't be frightened by the odd location of this hotel, set in a narrow alley off a main shopping thoroughfare, or by the fact that the entryway features a table of plastic wrapped food to advertise the restaurant there. Head up to the lobby where the gracious, English-speaking staff will make sure you’re well settled into your spotless room. It may be tiny and dark room (windows look out to the alley, after all) but the upside is this is an unusually quiet hotel for Taipei. Décor is a mass-produced version of Imperial Chinese style, but so what? The beds are fine—no harder than is the norm in this city that likes a firmer sleep—and the price is right.
