The Green World Hostel
As locals know, you often find the best things hidden away in Taipei's skyscrapers. That's the case with this relatively new hostel/hotel founded in May 2013 and located on the 7th floor of an office building. The staff is super-friendly, and the private rooms, with their wall sized murals, massive flat-screen TVs, comfortable beds, and spectacular views, are nicer than those found in many mid-range hotels. Real budgeteers will be happy to hear that the dorm rooms are also exceedingly well set up, with bunkbeds housing about 10 to a room, divided by gender. Each dorm-stayer gets a large locker to store their gear (complete with a key) and fine linens on their beds. The Loft is a member of Hostelling International, so ask about discounts if you’re a member of that fine organization.
