Mitsui
Taipei's finest Japanese restaurant (it's actually a small chain) features some of the freshest, most expertly prepared sushi and sashimi I’ve ever had. The names of the fish aren’t always expertly translated into English (I have a hard time believing that there’s actually a fish out there called "Arthritic Neptune"), but so what? The setting is super chic: all burnished wood, perfect for a couple's night out, and the honeyed lighting makes customers look dewy. Frankly, I much prefer the raw to the cooked dishes, and I suggest you make a meal of them rather than going for one of the set menus, which mix the two (and drive up prices considerably).
