All too often, Mexican food—even in New Mexico—is a bland heaping of rice, beans, and sauces, generously portioned but generally tasteless. Not here, where dishes like the vegetarian Aztec quesadilla (with peppers, onion, scallions, and mushrooms) are crisp and spicy enough to make your lips sing. The fish tacos are often called the best in town, and you can order half-sized plates for the kiddos. The fried ice cream is big enough for a table to share. Note there are two Guadalajara Grills in town; the other is at 822 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, but doesn't have patio dining like this one.
