Opened back in 1989, this Taos favorite moved to the former Apple Tree Restaurant building on Bent Street in 2013. From the signature rack of lamb with red wine demi-glace to the dessert choices by pastry chef Michelle Myers (homemade Jamoca sundae!), Zeke Lambert's restaurant offers fine dining in a spare, elegant setting. The prices are on the high side, and the service isn't always impeccable, but the lobster bisque and mango chicken enchiladas are both excellent. For more affordable choices, come for lunch, or head upstairs to the Treehouse Bar & Lounge, with a view of the apple tree-shaded patio. Keep an eye out for the occasional surprises that turn up on the menu, such as red chile-dusted roasted rock shrimp.
