Assemblage Hotel

This boutique hotel packs a lot into a relatively compact space: a bar and cafe, an art gallery, a decadent spa, and, most importantly, well-appointed rooms that allow you to get a breather after a day of exploring one of Tel Aviv's most dynamic neighborhoods. The Assemblage has successfully meshed its architectural heritage—the building served as the Jewish National Fund offices in the 1920s—with quirky art and colorful decor accents, making it a fun, accessible property that does not skimp on service. Most rooms are on the smaller side and for that reason are best for single travelers and couples. But all come with fully equipped kitchenettes, including a small fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine. Keep in mind that there are no elevators, so it’s best to request a room on one of the lower floors if you don’t want a workout every time you go in and out of the room. The leafy courtyard cafe and bar is one of its hidden gems, and is beloved by locals (and their babies and their dogs) who appreciate the vegan and gluten-free options, the long list of reinvented Israeli tapas, and the all-around unpretentious vibe. The cafe’s wine list is also fantastic, and pairs particularly well with the courtyard's frequent hosting of jazz sessions, lectures on contemporary Israeli art, and other cultural events. The Assemblage is conveniently located five minutes from the Carmel Market (). It is another 5 minutes’ walk from the beach.
