Located in a neighborhood of businesses and factories in the American Colony, on the Tel Aviv–Jaffa border, this historic hostel is operated by a congregation of Christians and Messianic Jews, but guests of all persuasions are welcome. The guesthouse, located about 5 minutes’ walk from the beach and another 10 minutes’ walk from Old Jaffa, offers basic, well-maintained, air-conditioned private rooms with bathrooms, some outfitted for groups up to 8, and some with sun-drenched balconies. Street-facing rooms can be noisy, and many rooms are up several steep flights of stairs. Toiletries are not provided. The staff is helpful, and though the reception closes at 11pm, arrangements can be made for both late night or early morning arrivals and departures. Breakfast, included in the rate and served in the lush garden, is a special pleasure; and a coffee and tea station is available throughout the day.
