Sometimes all you need is a quality bed and a friendly smile at the end of the day. And the City Prima certainly supplies those things. A modest property on a side street just a half-block from the beach (some rooms have lovely beach views), the hotel came under the management of the Prima Hotel chain in 2013. Happily, it looks like the chain will be retaining the hotel’s crack staff; as well, the chain is known for its discounts and is currently offering great prices (as low as $120 for a double). So what do you get for your money? Standard rooms are small, but with an attempt at style (the bed headboards look a bit like beach sunsets); they vary in size and layout. The 40 studio rooms are larger and can fit up to three. Ask for a room toward the back avoid street noise. Guests who are kosher will appreciate the convenience of in-house a la carte lunch and dinner service. The hotel has limited free parking, free bike loans, and is steps away from the Number 4 and 10 buses.
