Here’s another one where location is its key asset: This tall Starwood property is just across the road from Gordon Beach, just steps from cafes and restaurants. Guest rooms are bright, thanks to large windows and those in the Club and Tower areas were renovated in 2012 and 2013. All are outfitted, not surprisingly, with the super-comfortable “Sheraton Sweet Sleeper” beds. Club Rooms have access to an executive lounge where a light buffet is usually out for the taking, while Tower Rooms come with a more exclusive, separate lounge and buffet, as well as special Tower Floor reception and concierge service. The Sheraton is the only beachfront high-rise with many guest rooms squarely facing the sea (other hotels offer rooms with an angled view of the Mediterranean), a BIG plus. As well, the Sheraton’s dining services are primo, especially the elegant Olive Leaf restaurant which we count as the best luxury kosher restaurant in Israel. We also think the new swimming pool area is mighty attractive. And the staff throughout the hotel are unusually helpful.
