A much-loved Jaffa landmark, this aromatic bakery sells direct from-the-oven, personal-size, traditional Arabic pita-bread pizzas, stuffed breads, and Palestinian-style cheese, potato, and vegetable burekas. Everything is delicious (and very filling), and although there is no seating, you can take your purchases across Yefet Street up onto the hill of Old Jaffa to the sidewalk benches (there are lovely sea views up here). Bring lots of napkins. Don’t confuse Abu Lafia’s with neighboring imitations. Cash only.
