The second leg of Williamstown's two prominent art repositories exists in large part thanks to the college's collection of almost 400 paintings by the American modernists Maurice and Charles Prendergast. The museum also has works by Gris, Léger, Whistler, Picasso, Warhol, and Hopper. Frequent special exhibitions on such subjects as the work of Robert Rauschenberg and contemporary artist wcmart draw in visitors, though if you're choosing between this museum and the Clark, you'll usually find the offerings to be more compelling at the latter.
