The Australian sea lion is one of the world's rarest seals; less than 12,000 survive in the wild today. The sea-lion colony at Point Labatt is the only permanent breeding colony on mainland Australia (all other colonies occur on offshore islands) and it's one of the few places where you can watch seal pups learning to swim and play. The cliff-top viewing platform overlooks the colony, but you'll need binoculars and a zoom lens for a close-up view.
