Commanding a prime vista overlooking East Hampton's village pond, The Hedges Inn is a local landmark that has been raising the bar for generations. Built in the 1800s, the inn's 12 renovated guest rooms strike a perfect balance between sophistication and seaside charm. An authentic part of East Hampton's colonial history, the inn was run by the Hedges family until the 1920s. Its wainscoted walls, now decorative fireplaces, wrought-iron four- poster beds, and intimate bar make the inn popular for weddings and special occasions. The airy, spacious dining room seats up to 120 quests and the flowers featured throughout are grown on the manicured grounds in the historic cutting and herb garden. Listed in The National Register of Historic Places, The Hedges Inn serves up modern amenities with time-honored ease.  The inn opens on April 25 for the season, and closes Oct. 31.
