The newest addition to Sag Harbor's restaurant row is a welcome arrival that takes its inspiration from the cuddy of a ship, the space protected from the elements that provides a safe haven. In sunshine or shower, The Cuddy's warm, relaxed style helps you set your worries aside as you order a flight of microbrew shorts and size up the gastropub cuisine. Small plates stand out—this is no run-of-the-mill pub fare. Expect braised pork belly; grilled leeks with poached eggs, hazelnuts, and parmesan; and roasted bone marrow on grilled toast. Entrees are imaginative, from fried chicken and waffles set with plum jam and honey butter to scallops and grits garnished with tomato jam and house-cured bacon. Locally sourced fish and meat are complimented with organic produce and hand-crafted beverages.
