Like Gordes’ Village des Bories, this cluster of 20 ancient dry-stone dwellings in Bonnieux is other-worldly. Located on a private 4-hectare site within a lush cedar forest (itself crisscrossed by bucolic walking trails), the beehive-shaped buildings were used to house animals and agricultural tools. Some used to host wells, bread ovens, and apiaries as well. The site also looks out over beautiful panoramas of Bonnieux village, Mont Ventoux, and the wider Luberon. Note that Enclos des Bories is accessed via a 500-m (1,650-foot) stroll from the Camping de Bonniex.
