Beloved of locals, and believed to be the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Thessaloniki (though it recently moved to its current location), Vrotos is set at the edge of Athonos Square. It's best know for its wonderfully prepared Thessaloniki meze, specialties such as smoked eel, hunkar begendi (braised veal shanks with an eggplant puree) and baked feta. The service is gracious and the room has a wonderful coziness to it.
