Set on a long, curving deck that seems to float over the surface of the Sea of Galilee, Decks is famous for exquisite meats, poultry, and fish barbecued in unique ways over fires that combine citrus wood, olive wood, and American hickory. That mix gives them a unique (and memorable smokiness). Specialties, not always written on the menu, include boneless shoulder of lamb, priced according to weight and of gourmet quality; moist, juicy salmon and tuna, cooked in a traditional charcoal oven brought from the coast of Dalmatia; and carpaccio of Mediterranean tuna freshly caught by the owner’s son. Dinner comes with a voucher for one of the Lido Sailing Company’s daytime or evening party boats—a fun experience, with local partygoers sometimes dancing on the waters to Arabic and Israeli music. An excellent place to head if romance is on the menu.
