Roseanna’s Cafe

Oceanside was the first coast town I ever stayed in in Oregon, and it didn’t have a restaurant—or much of anything except simple cottages and a great beach. When Roseanna’s opened in the early 1980s, it became a favorite spot for locals and those driving along the Three Capes Scenic Loop. Unpretentious and with a fabulous view, it was the only spot for miles around that attempted to do more than fish and chips or burgers. Over the years, this little restaurant in a simple building from the early 1900s hasn’t changed much, and it remains a favorite spot. The food is comfortable and filling if not haute cuisine; special sauces are created to complement just about everything from seafood to pasta. Roseanna’s is famous for its desserts, so you may want to sample the fresh huckleberry pie or other sweets. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait for a table.
