Toronto’s first civic park is lackluster (and a bit dangerous after dark), but plant fanatics flock here en masse to enjoy the 1,486-sq.-m (16,000-sq.-ft.) Victorian greenhouses. Inside are citrus trees, palms, cacti, and colorful tropical flowers including rare orchids and bromeliads. I love heading here in winter, when the ponds and waterfalls provide an escape from the bone-gnawing chill of the Ontario cold.
