Sometimes the most important consideration when picking a hotel is location, location location...and this Holiday Inn has that in spades. It's within walking distance of Yorkville and conveniently close to such top sights as the Bata Shoe Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum. For the city's other top attractions, there's a subway stop just one block from the hotel. As for this 14-story lodging itself, it's fine, if nothing fancy (which may be why it's often cheaper than other hotels in the neighborhood). It offers moderately-sized rooms that are quite clean if a bit dated in their appearance (rumor has it the hotel may be updating rooms in 2015). But the amenities are solid, including a usable 24-hour fitness room, laundry facilities, lobby computers (with printers, for use free by guests) and even free passes to a nearby recreation center that has a pool. Breakfast (and evening karaoke, if you're so inclined) is available in the adjoining English-style pub, which also provides room service.  Look for the hotel entrance at the side off Bloor Street; this is also where you enter for parking. The front desk usually has discounted tickets available to the Royal Ontario Museum, so be sure to ask.
