Don’t be fooled by its literary name. This Toronto institution has been a favorite among the sporty, party-loving set for decades. Although the many flatscreens play everything from hockey to football (American and European), Hemmo’s is one of the few places in town that screens rugby games. After work, sports fans flock to this three-story Kiwi pub for a pint and a bite. In summer, the four patios are coveted by locals. Service is friendly. Deep-fried pub grub isn’t the only nosh on offer; a few healthful salads round out the menu—this is Yorkville, after all.
