In 2010 this building celebrated its 50th birthday with a $30-million facelift—quite the gift, but then this is quite the venue. Artists who have appeared in this storied venue range from Richard Burton and Liz Taylor to Bob Dylan, the Clash, and Radiohead. Star architect Daniel Libeskind, the man responsible for the Royal Ontario Museum’s controversial crystal galleries, designed the precipitous 58-story tower that now sits atop the theater.
