From 1919 until the 1970s, this Palladian building functioned as a first-run movie theater. As the Danforth neighborhood became progressively more Greek in the [’]60s, the theater began to lose its viability, and it was eventually sold and turned into a Greek-language cinema, before it ultimately transformed into a music-venue-cum-rep-house. After a serious renovation in the early aughts, the venue has become a full-time music hall. The gently sloping floor ensures great sightlines for both seated and standing concerts (both are accommodated here). St. Vincent, Metric, Iggy Azalea, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber have all performed at this midsized venue.
