The cozy front room, with its checkerboard floor and exposed brick attracts a mature crowd, who comes to listen to obscure Motown while knocking back local craft tall cans. The ambience changes gears in the much younger back room, the site of some of the city’s best low-key dance parties. Fridays are Beam Me Up, a weekly disco night, Thursdays feature Sister Mister, a popular queer dance party, while Tuesdays are Indie Nights. Other popular monthly events include Juicebox (new wave), Synthesexer (electropop), and It’s All Good, a ’90s video dance party.
