The cooks at this Tijuana-style taco joint don’t skimp. Tacos are loaded to bursting, which is why two soft corn tortillas are necessary (for architectural stability). Even then, eating one of these flavorful pockets is near impossible—they’re just that overloaded. Veteran Seven Lives customers know to grab a fork for the first few bites. Seafood is the focus here: chili-spiked cheesy shrimp, grilled octopus, and deep-fried baja fish, all good choices. The often sold-out ceviche, which comes on a guac-loaded tostada, is the best in Kensington Market. Don’t try and fight for one of the half-dozen seats (the room becomes a zoo at peak times). Instead, grab lunch to go and enjoy the Mexican eats under the shade of one of Bellevue Square Park maple trees. Cash only.
