With a lack of special hotels inside Tours, it’s well worth driving out to this lovely and reasonably priced 18th-century manor. Situated only 5km (3 miles) south of the city, the refined estate sits on a 3-hectare park. The grounds include fountains and a manicured French garden. A gracious double-curving stairway takes you to the welcoming reception hall. Guest rooms have elegant wooden furniture, fireplaces, and refitted bathrooms. The nine best rooms are in the main château; the other ten are in the nearby turn-of-the-20th-century pavilion. Before heading out on your castle touring, relax in the steam room or get a massage in their recently installed Magnolia spa. The restaurant is appreciated around the area for its inventive cuisine and extensive wine list (lunch menu 29€, dinner menu 45€–75€).
