This grand old 19th-century hotel has recently undergone a much-needed facelift, returning to its former grandeur as top hotel in town. Its star-studded line of guests has included Rockefeller, Churchill, and Hemingway. Its midsize rooms are decorated in a stylish contemporary style in beiges and creams accented with splashes of vibrant color. The bathrooms have also been renewed with shower/tubs, some with Jacuzzi functions. If you don’t have one in your room, make your way to the hotel’s new wellness center with a Jacuzzi, heated pool and hammam. Its restaurant serves a good quality and value menu at 28€ if you don’t venture out into the city. On weekdays, the hotel is popular with business travelers; on most weekends it offers greatly reduced rates.
