Dishes that will make you groan with pleasure, with flavors designed to delight . . . that’s what you will find at this smart, friendly restaurant. On my last visit to Townsville I ate here three times in two days—the food so good, I just kept going back. At breakfast, try the Asian chicken omelette with snow peas, bean shoots, fried shallots, and chili jam (or the most popular item on the menu, the Queensland avocado on wholegrain sourdough with whipped Danish feta and poached eggs). For dinner, I had the puffed rice crusted salmon in shiitake broth, served with scallop ceviche, wild mushrooms, pickled ginger, radish, wakame, and herbs, with a side dish of beans, snow peas and Asian mushrooms that perfectly complemented it. Really, don’t miss this restaurant.
