Because most of the islands' 400 or so inhabitants are descended from 19th-century "colonists" from Naples, the local cuisine is quite similar to the Neapolitan culinary tradition -- lots of fresh fish dishes, and heaping plates of pasta with crustaceans, shellfish, and pomodorini (cherry tomatoes). For pizza by the slice at the sandy beach of Cala delle Arene on San Domino, go to the nearby Albergo Bar Pizzeria Rossana, Via Federico II, 4 (tel. 0882/463298; www.isoletremitialbergorossana.it), which also has doubles from 60€ to 130€. The kiosk (no phone) by the dock at San Domino also does good panini and take-away fare for picnics aboard your rental gommone.
