A romantic getaway near one of the state’s most spectacular desert-wilderness areas, this B&B is located 60 miles north of Tucson on Aravaipa Creek. The inn is 7 miles from the highway, 3 of those miles up a well-maintained dirt road and then across a stream, so it’s a long way to a restaurant. Consequently, the inn offers meal packages (arrangements must be made at least 14 days before your stay). Guests entertain themselves hiking in the Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness, bird-watching, and cooling off in the pool. The casitas are eclectically decorated in a mix of folk art and rustic Mexican furnishings, with tile floors, stone-walled showers, and shady verandas. For a romantic weekend or a vigorous vacation, this inn makes an ideal base. The innkeepers also rent out a three-bedroom house that sleeps up to six people.
