Spectator Sports in Tucson
Football
The University of Arizona Wildcats (tel. 800/452-2287 or 520/621-2287; www.arizonaathletics.com), a Pac-10 team, play at UA's Arizona Stadium. Most tickets cost between $20 and $60.
Golf Tournaments
The World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship (tel. 520/207-0595; www.pgatour.com), Tucson's main PGA tournament, is held in late February at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain. Daily tickets are $25 to $55.
Horse/Greyhound Racing
Rillito Park Race Track, 4502 N. First Ave. (tel. 520/293-5011; www.rillitodowns.com), the birthplace of both the photo finish and organized quarter horse and Arabian racing, hosts quarter horse and thoroughbred racing for 6 weeks each winter. The ponies run on weekends in January and February, and admission is free to $5.
Greyhounds race year-round at Tucson Greyhound Park, 2601 S. Third Ave. (tel. 520/884-7576; www.tucsongreyhound.com). Admission is free. Races are held Monday through Saturday evenings. To reach the track, take exit 261 off I-10.
