When all that exercise and partying leave you craving serious protein, wander down a side street to this casual carnivore’s delight. It’s not fancy or trendy, but the decor is consistently improving as the restaurant’s fame grows. Simple wooden tables line the sidewalk and inside the warm dining area. But the food—oh my! I’ve been known to eagerly consume a large arrachera, or marinated flank steak, covered with grilled onions and chilies, plus a baked potato and salad with little conversation between bites. Rib eye, T-bone, and New York steaks are grilled beside the front door, along with a yummy, spicy chorizo. Those with smaller appetites can order several tacos stuffed with various meats, cheeses, or nopales (cactus). Try to restrain yourself from nibbling too many fresh chips with the four complimentary salsas before your meal arrives. Not a meat eater? No problem. There are baked potatoes stuffed with just about anything on the menu, a yummy queso fundido (melted cheese with warm tortillas), and fish selections.
