Asador de Santiago

This large restaurant is popular with concert-goers and conference attendees at the Hospital de Santiago next door, so booking is recommended. You can perch at the bar out front for tapas to share—jamón and white prawns from Huelva are popular—or have a full dinner in the formal dining room. Wood-fired roast meats are the specialty. The slow-cooked lamb and pink presa ibérica (pork shoulder steak) are excellent, if expensive, and service is spot-on. Inexplicably, the dining room is decorated with a terrible painting of Jonah being swallowed by a whale.
