The Ulm Hauptbahnhof is on several major and regional rail lines, with frequent connections in all directions. More than 40 trains per day arrive from Munich (trip time: 1 hr., 25 min.) and some 50 or more from Stuttgart (1 hr., 10 min.). Daily trains also arrive from Cologne (3 hr., 15 min.). From Frankfurt (2 hr., 20 min.), you can take an ICE (InterCity-Express), the fastest and most comfortable way to travel by rail. For rail information and schedules, call tel. 01805/996633 or visit www.bahn.de.
There are no buses from major cities; local buses service only satellite towns -- mostly bedroom communities of Ulm.
Access by car is via the A8 Autobahn east and west or the A7 north and south. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to drive to Ulm from Munich and about 3 hours to drive from Frankfurt.
