Fyre Drill
Epic Universe's only water ride is a slow-paced boat float (you won't even need a seat belt) through a shooting gallery that's full of targets—including you. You'll go around a winding course where a sudden soaking could come from anywhere, including from people on other vessels, since every passenger gets to use their own water gun, pumped by a handle.
The main object is to shoot your stream of water at one of the targets to get it spinning—a classic bullseye doesn't do much, a flame kicks off an effect somewhere in the set, and a blue X target unleashes a drenching. You're going to get wet, but how wet depends on the kindness of the passengers on the other boats on the course with you—you're not truly protected until you're safely back in the load station.
Each boat has a small chest at either end that can keep your belongings dry, but there are no lockers on shore. Kids under 48 inches must have an adult or supervising companion with them. Until mid-morning, seats on the right side of the boat (the far side as you load) will have the sun in their eyes for much of the ride. Ride duration: about 3:30.
Mentally prepare yourself: Your seat is likely to be wet when you board. You can buy ponchos at nearby shops for $14 for adults, and those work to cover everything but your face and your feet. Across the main path, you'll also find a couple of human-sized walk-in haystack driers, which will blast you with warm and dry air after your ride for $7.
