Wantilan Luau
Universal’s weekly 2-hour luau is held in a covered pavilion. It, like Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Show, has fire dancers and hula girls aplenty, but it beats the rest for authenticity: Food includes pit-roasted suckling pig with spiced rum–infused pineapple puree, and a catch of the day; Mai Tais are included. Should kids be grossed out by carving flesh off the pig, there’s a tamer children’s menu. You can walk from the Universal parks. Universal also does the self-explanatory, outdoor music-and-feast Caribbean Carnaval at its Sapphire Falls Resort (Fri at 6pm), but the Luau is more fun.
