Cheeca Lodge & Spa
Located on 27 acres of beachfront, this rambling resort has one of the only golf courses in the Upper Keys and much more. We’re talking two oceanfront family friendly pools and an adults-only lap pool; tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball; eco-tours, sunset cruises, snorkel excursions, boats and with seasoned guides for backcountry fishing; the Camp Cheeca children’s environmental program; and last but certainly not least, that 9-hole Jack Nicklaus–designed golf course. Rooms are decorated in typical Floribbean style: some rattan, lots of ocean blues and browns, nothing all that exciting. The newest and best rooms are the 43 premiere oceanfront rooms with unobstructed views and private, open-air tubs. There are three restaurants (sushi, Italian and American) and two tiki bars. The Spa at Cheeca Lodge is small, but serene, with six treatment rooms. Yes, the $55 daily resort fee is steep, but it includes golf, tennis, WiFi, fishing rods, bikes, and valet parking.
