It’s little wonder why the ultra-luxurious adventure brand Explora choose the Peru’s Sacred Valley for its first hotel outside of Chile. The all-inclusive property, outside of Urubamba near the village of Urquillos, is spread out on a 30-hectare (74-acre) maize plantation, with buildings constructed of natural elements that mimic the surrounding mountainsides. The rooms are chic, with wood and earthy tones, and intentionally leave out TVs and Wi-Fi (they can still be found in the restaurant and bar, though). Rates include more than 20 types of excursions via biking, hiking, or by van to some of the Sacred Valley’s most impressive destinations (including Machu Picchu), as well as three daily multi-course meals with wine and all transportation. There is a 3-night minimum stay.
