Planning a trip to Uzes

Buses also connect Uzès to Avignon and Nîmes. For bus information, contact the Gare Routière d'Uzès, avenue de la Libération, through the tourist office (tel. 04-66-22-68-88). By car from Avignon, take N100 west to the intersection with D981, following the signs northwest into Uzès.
Visitor Information -- The Office de Tourisme is in the Chapelle des Capucins, place Albert-1er (tel. 04-66-22-68-88; fax 04-66-22-95-19; www.uzes-tourisme.com).
Special Events -- July's Nuits Musicales d'Uzès draws musicians of many stripes and talents from all over the world to a series of musical concerts performed at various venues throughout the town. Tickets for these events, along with announcements of concerts, are available at the tourist office. For 2 days in the middle of January, the truffle festival attracts more than 10,000 to the place aux Herbes for tastings and a truffle market, and the local restaurants join in by offering special truffle-based menus. Uzès' Saturday morning market is one of the finest in the region.
