The Loden is a luxurious little treasure of a boutique hotel just slightly off the beaten path. It’s located on a side street near Coal Harbour and a short stroll from Robson Street, the West End, and the financial district. This place is all about chic comfort—the guest rooms have luscious bedding and a warm red, gold, and orange palette, and bathrooms feature chocolaty marble. Suites are dazzling in white-upon-white, with high ceilings, dramatic cream-leather headboards, deep soaker tubs, and pale sofas just waiting for a glass of red wine to spill. Throughout, floor-to-ceiling windows offer peeks of the water and North Shore Mountains, and the Garden Terrace rooms have peaceful private patios. Tableau, the excellent West-Coast-accented French bistro downstairs, is one of the city’s most underrated eateries and a real find.
