It would be worth staying here just for the complimentary downtown shuttle service in the hotel Jaguar. But the central location, great meeting facilities, and fine restaurant are also pretty swell. The hotel has been around since the early 1990s, and still retains some of the look of the era, a tad too much brass and smoky glass, but has mostly been updated throughout. That’s especially true of the guest rooms, some of which can boast a sexy red velvet chaise longue, as well as marble-tiled bathrooms, Frette linens, tufted headboards, and modern art. Many have balconies, but the views aren’t much; it’s really all about the location here. It’s also worth popping into the sleek and stylish restaurant, Diva at the Met, which seems to have something of a revolving door of the city’s best chefs—regardless, something good is always cooking.
