More than 25 years after it first started serving its famous eggs Benedict, back in 1988, this is still Vancouver’s favorite breakfast spot. It’s a colorful old diner, with bright ochre walls, red-and-fuchsia vinyl booths, and lime green chairs out on the patio. And the place is simply jammed with kooky toys, games, posters, and all sorts of 1950s and ’60s memorabilia. Your kids will love it. It’s busy, too: On weekends, get here early, or you’ll be waiting an hour to get in. This is mainly a spot for breakfast and lunch, with a few casual choices (burgers, salad, pasta) for an early dinner. Breakfasts especially rule: Think fluffy pancakes, overstuffed omelets, terrific eggs Benedict, and Sophie’s classic steak and eggs.
