On the main square at the bottom of the hill, this two-star hotel in a renovated 19th-century house is our favorite in Vézelay. Rooms are bright and minimally furnished; 12 have views of the garden and surrounding lush countryside while 3 others overlook the town. As you’d suspect, given its name, the hotel is on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela and is a popular stopping-off point for pilgrims. The terrace is an attractive spot for breakfast in summer.
