Planning a trip to Vico Equense

The tourist office (tel. 081-8015752; fax 081-8799351; www.vicoturismo.it) is at Via San Ciro 16 and maintains an information stand at Piazza Umberto I 19. The hospital (tel. 081-8016287) is on Via D. Caccioppoli. You'll find a pharmacy (tel. 081-8015525) on Via Roma 18 as well as several banks, including a Banco di Napoli (tel. 081-8016681). For first aid or an ambulance, dial tel. 118. You can call the police at tel. 113 and the fire department at tel. 115. The post office (tel. 081-8016811) is at Via San Ciro 57.

Getting There

You can easily reach Vico Equense by train, via the Circumvesuviana Railway (tel. 800-053939; www.vesuviana.it), or by bus, via SITA (tel.089-405145; www.sitabus.it) service from Naples, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast. Curreri Viaggi (tel. 081-8015420; www.curreriviaggi.it) offers service from Naples's Capodichino Airport as well as from Rome (for 10€ and 16€, respectively).

If you are coming by car, from the autostrada A1, switch to the A3, and take the exit CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA. Follow the signs for VICO EQUENSE and SORRENTO to SS 145, the coastal road that leads to Vico Equense.

Getting Around

Vico is not a large town and everything is pretty much within walking distance, including the beaches and mountain trails. You can also call a taxi at tel. 081-8015405, or go to the taxi stand on Piazza Umberto I.
